Executive Director – Maternity Leave Coverage 

Congregation Schara Tzedeck seeks an Executive Director for the term from June 2018 to October 2019 as maternity leave coverage. 

The Executive Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the synagogue to ensure stability over the long term and that the diverse needs of all members are being met.  The key components of the Executive Director’s mandate are Operations Management (Finances, Property, Facilities, Technology), Fundraising, Staff Management, and Member Services.  The Executive Director will act as a support to the President and Board of Directors as well as a liaison between the Rabbi, lay and religious leadership, staff, members, and volunteers.

Youth Director

Schara Tzedeck’s Youth Director is responsible for the overall management and development of youth programming for the synagogue. The ultimate goal of the Youth Director is to foster among local youth and their families a greater connection to Jewish community, synagogues, and Torah observance. This position is responsible for developing and leading a successful Youth Director comprising of diverse activities for various age groups and levels of observance, while working closely with volunteers including the synagogue’s Youth Committee. The Youth Programmer is a role model for Jewish values and the promotion of Jewish identity. 

The position of Youth Director will report to the Congregation’s Rabbi, Executive Director  and Engagement Director with close direction from its Youth Committee Chair. The position is a part-time position (approx. 25 hours per week) and will entail the need to work additional hours outside of the Synagogue’s core business hours including Shabbat and/or Jewish Holidays.

Our ideal candidate has 2 years of experience working with Jewish youth aged 0-12, teaching certificate or education training (BA or equivalent), and event planning background.
